Dr. Mark A. Popp

Dr. Mark A. Popp has been practicing in the Atlantic Beach area for since 1983, specializing in all applications of contact lens wear. Dr. Popp graduated from Stetson University, completed his graduate work at University of Central Florida and went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Popp is involved with the local schools and volunteers time with community services. He is a member of the Surfers Medical Association and is an avid surfer.

Dr. Richard S. Grimshaw

Dr. Richard S. Grimshaw has been practicing in Jacksonville and the Beaches since 1985. Dr. Grimshaw attended the University of Florida before receiving his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Having been raised in Florida all his life, in 1985 he moved back to Jacksonville Beach where he and his classmate, Dr. Popp, reconnected and have been practicing together since. Dr. Grimshaw is a 35+ year member of the American Optometric Association. He has been active in local and statewide optometry organizations and has served as President of the Northeast Florida Optometric Society. He is an avid boater, scuba diver and GATOR fan.

Dr. Matthew Sutton

As a board-certified optometrist with over 10 years of experience, Dr. Sutton is dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized eye care to his patients. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he earned clinical honors for his outstanding patient care.

Dr. Sutton believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach, where each patient’s unique needs and lifestyle are considered in their eye care plan. Whether it’s a routine eye exam, contact lens fitting, or managing ocular disease, Dr. Sutton strives to create a warm and welcoming environment, making every visit a positive experience.

His commitment to ongoing education ensures that his patients benefit from the latest advancements in eye care. Dr. Sutton is passionate about not just treating vision problems, but also fostering long-term relationships that promote overall eye health and well-being.

Dr. Sutton is a Florida native and has been in the Jacksonville area for over 20 years. He enjoys travel, golf, college football, being at the beach and spending time with his daughter.

Dr. Amanda Kovacs

Dr. Amanda Kovacs is a board-certified optometrist and a graduate of Nova Southeastern College of Optometry where was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society and graduated with honors. While attending NSUCO, she received a second Bachelor’s of Science degree in Vision Science as well as her Doctorate of Optometry. She was awarded the Volk Excellence in Ocular Disease Management Award at graduation.

Dr. Kovacs has over 8 years of prior experience in primary care and ocular disease management. She has a passion for the management of cataracts, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and retinal conditions. Additionally, she has past experience in clinical research and has previously been a consulting provider for a local hospital system where she provided on-call care for the emergency department as well as consultations for in-patients. Dr. Kovacs prioritizes getting to know her patients, fostering long-lasting relationships with them, and making sure they fully understand their diagnoses and treatment plans.

Dr. Kovacs is a Florida native and has been practicing in the Jacksonville area since first moving to Neptune Beach in 2017. She enjoys spending time outdoors at our beautiful beaches with her husband and her dog as well as traveling, and rooting for her Alma Mater, the Florida State Seminoles.
